Crash
I noticed this sad-looking biplane toy in my garden the other day. I wept for the borrowers who must have confused this yellow, plastic knickknack for an actual working plane, perfect for their stature, and whom must have tragically died in the ensuing accident. They will be missed. Borrow on. x

I happened upon this holidaying warlock over the summer. I’d have got a better photo, but I had to be quick so as not to incur his wrath.

BY THE HAMMER OF THOR! Since when was this in existence/my possession?
Thank you attic! I knew you’d have to deliver after I found those broken keyboards and spider nest!

So I’m back. From France and on the internet. I was staying away for a few days for fear of Lost spoilers. Which was The Greatest by the way.

I saw this bird in the middle of the road that just wasn’t moving. It was standing up all right but not going anywhere, so seizing an opportunity I got in right close with my camera. I had to be quick though as I had no idea if it was just going to fly off, and I didn’t particularly want to get run over, so it came out rushed but nicely focused. You can see each individual frond of its feathers in the large version.
I swear so much of nature photography is just being in an ace place at the right time.
EDIT: Oh and then I picked it up and put it in some bushes so it didn’t get smushed. Hero to the animals, that’s what they call me. The beetle association have been putting in many a good word.

My brother fell asleep on top of his torch again. I didn’t turn the lights on but instead used an 8-second exposure which, in the absence of a tripod, meant I had to balance my camera on a stack of board games and lego.

It wasn’t so much his size (and he was like 2 full inches long) but regal colour that impressed me. Something that golden-green has to be a king among his species. I know these things guys. Me and the beetle community have a mutual affinity.
